Drifting

Last year in California we experienced wafting clouds of smoke and ash for months, constant reminders of our changing ecosphere and human-enhanced tragedy. Like those miasmas, we drifted–but with no toxic effects–across the Pacific. OFFspace took a small cohort of artists to Hong Kong, China to partner with a pop-up exhibition space (The Clubhouse) in conjunction with Hong Kong Walls.  We curated a wall span of work in a disused light manufacturing building in the Wan Chai district. Exploring fire and its consequences, from the recent wildfires throughout the state, arson fires in the Bay area to metaphorical fires in the political arena and personal “fires” on the home-front.
